Learn about Cicero, IN

Located in Hamilton County’s Jackson Township, at the north end of the Morse Lake in the state of Indiana, Cicero is a small town of more than 4,900 residents.

Cicero’s history began in 1834, when its first settlers platted the new town. It was named after the Cicero Creek, which feeds a watershed in central Indiana.

In 2009, Cicero celebrated its 175th anniversary.

One of Cicero’s foremost symbols is the Red Bridge, which was first built in 1838 and converted to a covered bridge in 1870. This was torn down in the 1950s to make way for the building of the Morse Reservoir. The construction of the reservoir was another important milestone in the town’s history.
